All For 5 Milliseconds

Dwell time is the duration of the contact of a tennis ball with the strings of a tennis racquet. According to the research (1, 2) dwell time of a ball on a racquet is 5 milliseconds on average. That is 5 thousandth of a second! That is a hack of a considerably short time...

But come to think of it, all the preparation, execution and the post-execution is all for a PERFECT 5 milliseconds :)

What do I mean?

Racquets, strings, grip variations, ball types, court surfaces, the tennis shoes, the dri-fit clothes, hats, fitness, endurance, drills, videos, readings, thousands of decisions, backswings, single hands, two hands, variations, locking the wrist and other techniques, follow throughs, foot-work, inhales/exhales, tactics, strategies.... just for the right 5ms.

Oh and for the happiness, self-esteem, better health, good communication and perception...
